Cleric Admonishes Nigerians to Repent or Perish.

A Christian cleric, Bishop Fred Aghedo, the General Overseer of Gospel Defenders Ministries International, has admonished Nigerians to repent or perish. The clergy man pointed out that the atrocities being committed by Nigerians today is more than the atrocities commmitted in Sodom and Gomorrah adding that God has been patient with the country for some reasons.


Bishop Aghedo gave the admonishion Sunday, 13 December at the church auditorium of Gospel Defenders Ministries on Lucky Way, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City while delivering a sermon at the 2020 Havest Thanksgiving service of the church.


He urged Christians to take note of their attitude while giving assuring that the attitude behind their giving is what attracts miracle. 


"It is important to give, but the attitude behind your giving is what brings your miracle. It is important to wait, but the attitude behind your waiting brings the miracle."


While urging Christians to cultivate the act of giving thanks to God for His Grace's and mercy, Bishop Aghedo who christened the 2020 Havest Thanksgiving as Thanksgiving of God's faithfulness, said appreciation to God is an application for more blessings and miracles.


The cleric who drew his sermon from Luke chapter 13, made refrences to the healing of the ten lepers by Jesus Christ where only one of them came to appreciate Christ, pointing out that Jesus Christ's question on the whereabouts of the other nine lepers points to the importance God attaches to Thanksgiving and appreciation.  


On why the 2020 Thanksgiving is successful amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and other challenges that characterise 2020, Bishop Aghedo said: "that is why I tagged the Harvest as Thanksgiving of God's faithfulness upon this church. I don't know about others, we're not rich, we don't have so much; but we are satisfied with what God is doing.


"The greatest testimony is that before the troubles and calamities happening in the country start, God always reveal it to us here. So, we're already aware ahead of time and we get ourselves prepared for it. It's like the interpretation of Pharoah's dream by Joseph in the Bible, where he told Pharoah of what was going to happen and the way out. Pharoah just obeyed.
So, obedience and faithfulness is what is making us celebrate today successfully.


"We are happy, many have dedicated new houses, many have dedicated new cars and are celebrating good health in the days of Covid-19 pandemic."

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September.
