Mama Azilomen Udegbe for Burial 15 January.

The right of passage for Chief (Mrs) Azilomen Odimo Udegbe of Ibore, Uneah in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State will commence on 15 January. 


In a statement made available to journalists on activities lined up to give the centenarian a befiting burial and signed by the first son and Medical Director of Udegbe Medical Centre Uromi; Dr. Enaholo Odimo Udegbe states that her remains will depart Odomene Mortuary, Uromi for her home town, Ibore, Unea; Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State on 15 January at 10 am.


According to the release, the body will be taken to Dr. Udegbe's compound at Ibore for lying in state after a flag stop at Pa. Udegbe's family compound same day.


At 3 pm, the corpse will leave Dr. Udegbe's compound for her ancestral home at Iyile's compound, Idumegbor Quarters, Ibore for interment.


The statement adds that there will be social activities on Saturday, 16 January to celebrate the life and times of Mama Azilomen Odimo Udegbe at Ibore Primary School Compound, Ibore.

A titled chief, Mama Azilomen Odimo Udegbe was the mother of Dr. Enaholo Odimo Udegbe, the Chief Medical Director of Udegbe Medical Centre, Uromi. A grassroots medical practitioner, Mama's son, Dr. Enaholo Udegbe has contributed a lot to the health and well being of Esan people, especially those in the rural communities.

A hard working woman, loving mother and supportive wife, Mama Azilomen Odimo Udegbe assisted her late husband, Pa Udegbe to see to it that their children had the best of education. She slept peacefully in the Lord on 11 November, 2020 at the ripe age of 120.

She's survived by children, grand children, great grand children, daughters and sons-in-law, several adopted children, brothers, nieces and nephews.
