Edo State Govermenmet Embarks on Massive Rehabilitation of Roads in GRA, Environs.

Disturbed by the spate of failed portions on the roads linking the varrious streets in the Government Reservation Area axis of the Benin metropolis, Edo state government has directed  EDO SEEFOR to immediately embark on a large scale rehabilitation of these failed portions.


Our correspondent observed that men and materials were mobilized to the various sites as they were seen working in the front of the Nigeria Union of Journalists press centre building, High Court road among other areas. 

According to Engineer Prayer Osakue, the site engineer, who spoke through Irabor Pius Ibode, the job schedule will accommodate Commercial Avenue, Okada Avenue, Front of NUJ, Oasis hotel road, State CID road, High Court Road, Government House Road, By 4 Brigade, among others.


Engineer Osakue said the works will be done in record time and in line with quality specifications while appealing to road users to bear with the agency as there may be diversion of traffic at any point where work is ongoing.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
