Democracy Day: Local Govt. Council Aspirant, Imhandegbelo Salutes Obasaki

...Urges Esan South-East Citizens To Be Vigilant.

A leading aspirant on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)  in the forthcoming Local Government Council election in Esan South- Esat Local Government Area, Hon. Louis Imhandegbelo has felicitated with Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu as the country  marks this year's Democracy Day. 


While felicitating with the Governor, Hon. Imhandegbelo in a statement, appealed to Edo people to support Governor Obaseki to enable him deliver the devidends of democracy to the people just as he urged indegenes of  Esan South-East local government to rededicate themselves to salvaging the local government and positioning it for greatness.

According to him, “we are currently faced with numerous challenges, it takes commitment, dedication, sacrifice and noble intentions to get through the rough pitches that we are experiencing, but with God on our side, we will overcome.

“The people and the government hold the key to the solution of our problems and we must work together to make our local government and Edo State great again,” he added.

While urging his people in Esan South-East to rededicate themselves to the task of joining hands with the Obaseki led administration to reposition the Local Government Area for greatness, Imhadegbelo said: "Governor Obaseki have a ready example in Edo State, which today is a beacon of hope for democracy. It is the doggedness to rescue the state from the doldrums exhibited by Edo people during the last election that we need so as to keep faith in the state alive. It takes eternal vigilance to keep our state one and prosperous.

“As we mark this year's Democracy Day on June 12, I urge all the citizens of Esan South-East local government to rededicate themselves to salvaging our local government and positioning it for greatness, with the same vigour and commitment displayed by Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu. It is only then that Edo State will be great again."

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
