Josemaria Escriva Foundation Donates Books for Edo Central Science/ Mathematics Quiz.

Josemaria Escriva Foundation have indicated interest in partnering Esan Youths Organization (EYO) to host the second edition of Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in Esanland.

This was disclosed to EYO at an enlarged stakeholders meeting which took place on Sunday, 13 June.




The Josemaria Escriva Foundation led by it's Chief Responsibility Officer, Dr Jude Obasanmi told stakeholders that his organization will support the educational event with three cartons of textbooks for Junior Secondary School students. He assured that the books will be ready for pick-up on Tuesday, 15 June at the foundation's office at Ekpoma.

In a similar development, the Chairman of Odianonsen Odine Foundation, Hon Odianonsen Odine also promised to support the event with the first prize amount.

The president of EYO, Comrade Kingsley Ohens thanked the two organisations for taking interest in the developing the interest of students in science and mathematics in Esanland noting that science and mathematics form the basis of future global development. He assured the donors that their contributions will be utilized to enhance teaching and learning in Esanland.


Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition being organized by the Esan Youths Organization is aimed at fostering unity among schools and students in Esanland. The event is opened to all secondary schools (public and private) in Edo Central Senatorial District. The event shall among other things promote interest in science based subjects.


According to Ohens, "the event will hold in two segments namely: the qualifiers stage and the grand finale. The qualifiers stage will hold at the local government level, where all the schools in the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial District shall compete in central schools to qualify for the grand finale. A total of 20 schools shall emerge at the qualifiers phase to compete for prizes and trophies at the grand finale", he said.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
