Edo NUJ Turns Back Orukpe-led Fake Butchers Protest.

The leadership of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ today, Thursday turned back a group of protesters led by one Lucky Orukpe purporting to be members of Edo State Goat Butchers Association. 

Journalists who turned back the Lucky Orukpe-led protesters said the protesters couldn't have been goat butchers as Lucky Orukpe who led the protesters is not a butcher adding that they're impostors noting that the NUJ can not be used by chalattans to wrongly confront the Edo State Govermenmet.

According to a source, the leadership of the Edo State Goat Butchers Association had last Tuesday led a delegation to the Edo State Council of NUJ with a verbal notice to be received by union on Wednesday in a protest. But the Butchers did not turn up, apparently because maybe the issues that would have necessitated the protest has been resolved or over taken by event. But we're surprised that today, Thursday, one Lucky Orukpe who is not a butcher is leading protesters to the NUJ premises purporting to be Goat Butchers.

The union then appealed to impostors who are busy bodies and turning themselves into protest contractors to steer clear of its premises.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September.
