Inegbeniki Dissociates Self From Plans to Impose Puppets as Edo APC Executive.
By Lucky Isibor.
The Edo State Vice Chairman (Edo Central) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Francis Inegbeniki has dissociated himself from a rumour going round that he has stepped down from the Edo State APC Congress slated for Saturday October 16, 2021; stating that he's still in the race.
Chief Inegbeniki made this clarification while addressing members of the party and delegates to the state Congress in Benin City on Thursday.
According to him, "there is a rumour going round that I have stepped down or asked to step down. I am here to set the record straight and therefore I wish to state emphatically that I am still in the race.
"It's true that there was a kangaroo meeting held few hours ago where it was resolved that the Edo APC state congress will not hold as scheduled but rather a process that is alien to the ethos and principles of democracy will be adopted, whereby an incompetent state executive will be handpicked and imposed on the party.

"I hereby disassociate myself from such undemocratic decision of a kangaroo and illegally constituted meeting.
"I, and the majority of our party members completely disassociate ourselves from that illegal meeting and its undemocratic decision, and as such insist on a free and credible state congress as stipulated by the Constitution of APC and the congress guidelines released by the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC)".
While appealing to the Governor Mai Mala Buni Caretaker Committee to intervene, Chief Inegbeniki warned that such undemocratic practice is capable of annihilating the party in Edo State.
"We are by this medium appealing to the leadership of our party and the national chairman of CECPC, HE Mai Mala Buni to intervene and stop our party in Edo State from imminent political annihilation."
