After Wide Consultation, Agbator Declares for House of Reps, Picks Nomination Form.

Chief Patrick Agbator, a community leader and philanthropist from Emaudu in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State has formally informed the people of Esan Central/Esan West/ Igueben federal constituency of his desire to represent them at the National Assembly under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023. Agbator who made the formal declaration at Ekpoma, also collected the PDP expression of interest form and the nomination form.

He noted that his decision to contest the PDP nomination was taken after consultations with a wide spectrum of the federal constituency including traditional rulers, politicians across political divide, students, youths, the inteligentia community, opinion leaders, opinion molders, religious leaders and market women.


". I listened to market women and men, I sat down with the young and old, I heard from students and intellectuals, I broke bread with the unemployed and the underemployed, I accepted the counsel of traditional rulers and kingmakers across Nigeria, and more importantly, I weighed in the opinion of my wife and children. All the signals that I got were positive."


The formal declaration of  Chief Agbator  which took place at Ekpoma was attended by a cross section of the political class, opinion and community leaders across the Esan Central/West/Igueben Federal Constituency.

 All those who spoke at the occasion, including the speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun poured encomiums on Chief Agbator describing him as an outstanding and patriotic Esan man who has used his God's given wealth to support the downtrodden in the constituency.


In their separate words, they noted that his representation  of the district in the House of Representatives will definitely attract the much needed development to the constituency. They then appealed to the delegates to the PDP congress to give Chief Patrick Agbator the party ticket for EsanCentral/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency.

The PDP primaries to determine who flies the PDP banner at the national Assembly elections scheduled for February 2023 is expected to take place in May 2022.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
