2023: Consensus Christian Leaders Seek Direction
By Lucky Isibor
Ahead the 2023 general elections, the Consesus Christian Leaders Forum, has fixed Saturday, 24 September for a special prayer session to seek the face of God to get direction on the way to go in the election to rescue the nation from chaos, anarchy and doom.
The leader of the forum, Archbishop Fred Aghedo who disclosed to newsmen in Benin on arrangements put in place for a hitch free prayer session; disclosed that the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum is a body of prophetic visionary Christian leaders that are consensus and having one mind.
While emphasising that the nation is comatose in every sphere, Archbishop Aghedo noted that the group have been endorsing candidates in the past after hearing from God as they want to do now, adding that such candidates have always won the election as God Himself has been giving them such direction.
Archbishop Fred Aghedo is also the General Overseer and founder of Gospel Defenders Ministries, said God has declared His intention to change the operational modalities of politics in Nigeria, hence they want to seek His face so as to be able to direct their followers appropriately because according to him, "when the righteous rule, the people will rejoice, but when the wicked rule, people will be mourning and gnashing their teeth".
"We will decide after hearing from God. Peaceful and visionary Christian leaders have some how formed a consensus with heads of churches and prophets coming together to have one mind and severally we have unannimously agreed to carry a particular candidate and they have always won. I think the present government can attest to that. That's what we've been doing and we started since 1999. We are no babies in this game", he said.
While calling on Christians to go into politics to sanitise the political system, Archbishop Aghedo noted that politics have to go beyond the pulpit now saying that the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum is now ready to hit the street to tell the people the way to go after hearing from God.
"God is telling us that He wants to change the the modus operandi, the way things are done in politics is about to change. We should ask God which way is Nigeria going? Just like the voice of John the Baptist in the wilderness, we are crying, let men of God come, let's pray to God and hear from God.
"This meeting is actually for prophets and church leaders who really have congregations they're leading because politics have to go beyond the pulpit now, we have to go to the street and let the world know the way we should go because our nation is collapsing."
