Anti-Corruption: David Ugolor Elected Vice Chairman of UNCAC Coalition

 The Executive Director, Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, the Rev David Ugolor has been elected Vice Chairman of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Coalition, an international Civil Society group championing the implementation of UNCAC globally.

Rev David Ugolor  emerged Vice Chairman of the Vienna based global anti-corruption coallition in a keenly but transparent election. He was elected alongside Samantha Feinstein, Staff Attorney and Director International Program Government Accountability Project (GAP)-USA as Co-Vice Chairman.

The Executive Director, Access Info, Europe, Helen Darbishire emerged the Co-chair of the Coalition who will work together with another elected Co-Chair. They are elected to serve for a one year period.

An elated David Ugolor who is an expert in Asset Recovery and a product of Sussex University, United Kingdom had this to say: “I am happy to be part of the new leadership of UNCAC COALITION which will provide opportunities for ANEEJ to contribute to the global anti-corruption organization profile in the Sub-Saharan African countries and support engagement on Asset Recovery policy debate globally.”

The UNCAC Coalition is a global network of over 350 civil society organisations (CSOs) in over 100 countries, committed to promoting the ratification, implementation and monitoring of the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

Established in August 2006, it mobilises civil society action for UNCAC at international, regional and national levels. The Coalition’s office is registered and based in Vienna, Austria.
