Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum Donates Toilets to School

Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum, CEESF has donated a 4 room toilet to Ujoelen Primary School, Ekpoma the administrative headquarters of Esan West Local Government Area.

In his opening remarks at a ceremony to hand over the toilet and the accompanying 18 feet underground water tank and a 200 litre PVC surface water tank, the project coordinator, Comrade Babatunde James pointed out that the project which commenced in 2020 suffered a lot of set backs occasioned by paucity of funds, increase in cost of materials resulting from inflation, adding that the cost of the under ground water storage tank the surface water had to be factored in and provided to maintain the facilities because of the challenge of water supply which is prevalent at Ekpoma.

Welcoming guests to the occasion, the convener of Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum, Dr. Obasanmi Jude, who is also the Chief Responsibility Officer of Josemaria Escriva Foundation noted that CEEESF is a coalition of individuals, professional groups, trade unions, youth groups, and other non- state actors in Ekpoma and its environs with the aim addressing the various challenges confronting the people in Ekpoma and its environs.
"CEESF's aim is primarily to address the various challenges facing the people in the locality in a more coordinated manner. CEESF came into existence in 2017 and it is registered with the Edo State Government as a community based organization.
"Since 2017, CEESF has intervened and engaged stakeholders in the areas of bad roads, poor electricity supply, security and other issues affecting the community. There has been a remarkable level of success stories of which the donation of this facility is one."
While appreciating the efforts put in by several individuals and groups in the form of financial donation, their time and resources, Obasanmi appealed to the school authorities to ensure that the facilities are properly maintained to enhance durability.
He applauded the financial support of Hon. Joe Edionwele, Member representing Esan West, Esan Central, and Igeuben Federal Constituency, Ekpoma Okpa Unity Forum, UK chapter, the Head of Local Government Administration, Esan West Local Government Council, Engr. Emmanuel Ibhadode, Josemaria Escriva Foundation, Easy Motors, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun; Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Management of Lead Oil, and members CEESF for their sacrifice, support and faith in the project.
Speaking on behalf of Ujoelen community and the School Based Management Committee (SBMC), the chairman of the school SBMC, Rev. Izobobofolo, G. A. commended CEESF for the gesture and pleaded that efforts be made to complete the fencing of the school to ward off vandals who most times mess up the premises and steal some of the furniture and fittings in the school.
The Head Teacher of the School Mrs. Osumah B.L. applauded CEESF and promised to ensure that the facility was properly maintained. In her words, “it is the Lord’s doing”
