RAMADAN: Valentine Olumese Urges Muslims To Pray For The Nation

An aspirant in the forthcoming 2024 Edo Governorship electionDCP, Valentine Olumese (Rtd) has admonished the Muslim Umah to use their prayers and fasting to arbitrate for Edo State in particular and Nigeria at large during this holy month of Ramadan.

In a press statement issued and signed by DCP Valentine Olumese ,(Rtd) made available to newsmen call in a camaraderie message to the Muslim Umah as they begin the holy month of Ramadan which is practical by prayers, fasting and abstinence.

According to the governorship aspirant, "this year's Ramadan is of special importance as it coincides with the holy season of Lent in Christendom, adding that it underscores the significance of religious tolerance among the entire religious group across the country."

The former Deputy Commissioner of Police urge the Muslim to pray that the generality of our people absorb the lessons of Ramadan which includes fasting, prayers, abstinence and strive for devotion as advocated by the teachings of Prophet Muhammed.

He also request to all the Muslim Umah to use this month of fasting and prayers to become more charitable  towards all irrespective of religion, tutorial or doctrine and pray that this holy month of Ramadan bring spiritual  renewal, increased dedication, care and love for the less privileged and a renewed effort to sacrifice for our tomorrow.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
