CEESF, Urges Obaseki to Complete Abandoned Ekpoma Stadium

By Lucky Isibor The Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum (CEESF), has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki to complete the now abandoned Ekpoma mini-stadium which the state government started in 2020. The CEESF also condemned the activities of some youths in Ekpoma who collect money from heavy duty vehicles to give them access to ply Ekpoma township roads, which will eventually destroy the state roads and appealed to the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) of Esan West Local Government Council to assist in checking these illegal activities on the state roads by some youths. The CEESF made the calls in a communique at the end of an emergency meeting of the forum held on Thursday 3rd August, 2023 at Eguare Community Hall, Ekpoma. Edo NUJ Congratulates Prince Kassim Afegbua, Other Commissioners Appointed by Gov. Okpebholo

The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, ably led by Dr. Festus Alenkhe has congratulated Prince Kassim Afegbua on his well deserved appointment as commissioner of Information and strategy. The Edo NUJ also congratulates other newly inaugurated commissioners in Edo State. The union described the appointment of Prince Afegbua, as  a square peg in a square hole. It also expressed confidence that Prince Afegbua will deploy his expertise to bear as a journalist and communication expert in contributing to the development of Edo State. Edo NUJ described him as an asset to the present administration, judging from his track records of diligence, integrity and hard work. The Edo NUJ urged him to sustain the friendship and collaboration as partners in the course of his duty as commissioner in Edo state.

Edo State High Court Completes First Phase of Automation, Others to Follow in Few Weeks

By Lucky Isibor  The first phase of the automation of Edo State High Courts which comprises of automated recording of Court proceedings has been completed. This will be followed by the second phase which comprises of electronic filing of Court processes, electronic scheduling and others which will be completed in the next few weeks.  The Chief Judge of Edo State,  Honorable Justice Daniel Okungbowa disclosed this in his opening remarks at the  first quarterly meeting of the Edo State Programme Steering Group (SPSG) of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme (RoLAC) held at the High Court complex in Benin City on Friday, 13 March.  The Chief Judge noted that judges no longer record proceedings in long hands, adding that machinery has also been put in motion to approach the state government to extend it to Magistrate Courts in the state.  He disclosed that the second phase of the court automation which involves e-filing of processes is neari...
