An Edo born philanthropist and property merchant, Efosa Dorry Okojie has saluted Edo workers as they join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate this year's workers day.
In a solidarity message to the workers personally signed by Dorry Okojie himself and made available to newsmen in Benin City, he eulogised workers for putting in their best over the years inspite of the economic down turn that has reduced the purchasing power of their take home pay.
According to the statement, "This year's celebration is unique as it affords the workers and all lovers of the working class, an opportunity to reflect on what has become of their fortunes and possible ways out.
"Your resilience, courage, strive for excellence and penchant to increase productivity amidst high inflation that has not only plummeted your take home pay, but has simultaneously increased the stress on your disposable income; have been contributing factors to the promotion of what is left of our national cohesion in these trying economic times."
"As you celebrate, I enjoin the workers both in the public and private sectors to continue to put in your best as you've been doing in the realisation that you're helping the state and nation to build a better society for our unborn generations"
"As we look ahead to better days for our work force, I urge you to continue to brainstorm on how to increase productivity, grow the common wealth and suggest better people and workers friendly ways of distributing the common wealth in a manner that will benefit everyone and lift those life threatening burdens off the shoulders of our workers", the statement appealed.
