Dorry Okojie Meets Esan's Criteria for Edo Governor

That Dr. Dorry Afe Efosa Okojie meets the criteria set by Esan leaders for governorship aspirants of Esan extraction is not surprising, just as it has also elicited positive reaction and celebration from those who are calling on the young entrepreneur to throw his hat into the governorship race.

Esan leaders under the aegis of Esan Okpa Initiative (EOI) last weekend released a set of guidelines for governorship aspirants of Esan extraction to meet to attract its support and that of its affiliate organisations comprising all Esan organisations, including the Diasporas. 

Among the requirements is a minimum educational qualification of a first degree.

According to a statement signed by Hon. Matthew Egbadon (Esq), the president of Esan Okpa Initiative, "the criteria laid out also include Integrity and Moral Uprightness, Health Status, Viability of Political Platforms, Political Visibility and Electoral Viability, Resource and Material Capacity and Urbanness and Gravitas.

"The individual must not have been criminally tainted or have actually been convicted for crimes involving fraud and dishonesty. A good mentor and example in moral issues. Not a bankrupt or a person of dubious reputation.

"The individual must be physically and mentally sound; he must not have any past and present medical records that indicate otherwise; he must evidently be in good health and has never been associated with drugs-related rehab.

"The individual must be reputed for his civility, charisma, enlightened worldview and broad mindedness; not given to pettiness or deep-rooted grudges and anti-social behaviours.

"An individual vying for an elective position in Esanland should possess reasonable personal capacity to prosecute a viable campaign. This must not be misconstrued as limiting the search to moneybags only or even aspirants with the backing of wealthy godfathers".

A careful perusal through the criteria and Dorry Okojie's profile, show that he has a first degree and two sets of masters degree. He is honest, without any criminal record, with a high network of associates across the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State, all age groups and gender. 

He is a man of means, with a sizable number of high network individuals who are willing to render their support.

He has been in the forefront of securing Esan land in the face of insecurity which made him to single handedly establish the Esan Atanakpa Security Outfit which is still operational.

He'll certainly extend this security initiate to the three Senatorial Districts when given the opportunity to serve as Governor of Edo State.

Dr. Dorry Afe Efosa Okojie also has filial relationship with Edo South Senatorial District as his grand mother is a scion of the Benin Royal family, being a direct daughter of Oba Eweka.

 He's home in Edo North Senatorial District. And an Edo North musical icon, Junior Bolivia is using his music in Etsako diet to urge Esan people to support Dr. Dorry Okojie assuring that he has the support of Edo South and Edo North.

Against this backdrop, those who have not keyed into the Dorry Okojie aspiration should do so to usher into Edo State a new era of progress, human capacity building, development, empowerment and prosperity for all and sundry.
