Edo 2024: Why Dorry Okojie's Aspiration is Edo-Centric

As the Edo State 2024 governorship election gets closer by the day, a lot of Edo sons and daughters are jostling for the top seat and expectedly there are  attempts to sell the various aspirants for the position.

Edo people certainly want to entrust the governance of their state to a trust worthy person whose administration will be fair and just to them, be prudent in the allocation and management of their resources and be accountable to them.

As the people intensify their search for a new chief executive of the state, they're resolved to ensure that only the best is good enough for the State.

 They need someone with a verifiable means of livelihood; who has been a success in his private business ventures, someone they can have access to anytime the need arises and not the one who will only allow them see him when he needs them and not those who have lived the better part of their life on government and its resources.

The discoveries of these irreducible minimum requirements by Edo people have intensified the call on real estate mogul and businessman, Dr. Efosa Dorry Okojie (EDO) to throw his hat into the gubernatorial ring come 2024.

Dorry Okojie has his root in all the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State. His father and mother hail from Edo Central Senatorial District, his grand mother is a scion of the Benin Royal family who was sired by Oba Eweka and he's at home with his friends and in-laws in Edo North Senatorial District.

That Dr. Dorry Afe Efosa Okojie is from Edo Central Senatorial District and Edo people from across the three Senatorial Districts are urging him to come and replicate what he has been doing in his private business in the affairs of Edo State and all these are happening at a time when people from Edo South, Edo Central and Edo North Senatorial Districts are saying it's time to have an Edo Governor from Edo Central; is an alignment between nature and the thinking of man. This certainly was not planned by him, but spontaneous.

Edo people are very smart, intelligent and highly critical in their thought processes and they realise the enormous developmental requirements now expected of a state governor given the provisions of the last constitutional amendment which has just been assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari, devolving several responsibilities to the state governments in the area of infrastructural provisions. Edo people are quick to realise that it's only someone in the mould of Efosa Dorry Okojie, with the requisite private sector experience, who has high level contacts with investors can lead Edo State to provide the needed infrastructures to drive growth in the years ahead of 2024.

There is no doubt that Dorry Okojie who has the qualities required to make an Edo-Centric Governor has been contributing to the development of Edo State in diverse ways. Dorry Okojie's garment is flecked with philanthropy and has been a punctilious host to Edo people who cross his path in Lagos where he resides and strive for his daily bread and other parts of the country. 

All these have made the call on Efosa Dorry Okojie (EDO) absolutely necessary and need the buy-in of all stakeholders in Edo State so that together the people can enthrone an Edo-Centric Governor in the person of Dorry Okojie who will truly serve them in a servant leadership fashion.
