Ambassador Billy Oriaikhi, the Okaighele of Ute community in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, has expressed profound appreciation to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II for reaffirming his position as the legitimate Okaighele of the community. Oriaikhi made the remarks on Thursday, August 27, after he and other Okaegheles in Uhunmwode were invited to the palace of the Oba of Benin to address some issues in Uhunmwode Local Government Area and the issue surrounding the leadership crisis that had previously rocked Ute community. Owan Stakeholders Condemn Agbebaku’s Exit, Demand End to Marginalisation

Concerned citizens, community stakeholders and political advocates from Owan West and Owan East Local Government Areas of Edo State have condemned what they described as the “forced resignation” of Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku as Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, alleging that his removal was the result of executive intimidation and political pressure. The group, in a statement signed by Hon. Gordie Aigbodion (Esq) on behalf of concerned citizens, community leaders and youth coalitions in the two local government areas, said Agbebaku’s exit represented not only a setback for the Owan people but also a threat to the independence of the legislature. CEESF, Urges Obaseki to Complete Abandoned Ekpoma Stadium

By Lucky Isibor The Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum (CEESF), has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki to complete the now abandoned Ekpoma mini-stadium which the state government started in 2020. The CEESF also condemned the activities of some youths in Ekpoma who collect money from heavy duty vehicles to give them access to ply Ekpoma township roads, which will eventually destroy the state roads and appealed to the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) of Esan West Local Government Council to assist in checking these illegal activities on the state roads by some youths. The CEESF made the calls in a communique at the end of an emergency meeting of the forum held on Thursday 3rd August, 2023 at Eguare Community Hall, Ekpoma.
