The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Oshiomhole's Claim of Disqualification of Ighodalo, Treasonable Offence - PDP

The Ause/Ogie Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as treasonable offence, claims of the former governor of EDO State and now Senator Adams Oshiomhole of the APC that Ighodalo is not a candidate of PDP in the Governorship election of Edo State scheduled for September 21, laying claims to the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The Deputy Director of strategic communications of the campaign council, Dr. Pedro Obaseki stated this at an interactive session with journalists at the state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, we cqEdo State. Dr. Obaseki who said the court did not disqualify the PDP governorship candidate but only gave a judgement in favour of Ausue Ighodalo, described APC  as a failed party that was trying to convince the people with uncharitable words. FG Approves New Whistleblower Protection Bill

This was one of the memos presented to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) by the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning Wednesday, 14 December. The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Ahmed, who disclosed this to State House Correspondents after the week’s Council meeting, chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, lamented that the existing whistle-blowing policy launched on December 21, 2016 was losing momentum. Launched in December 2016 by the Buhari-led Government, the Whistleblower Protection Policy, facilitated through the Federal Ministry of Finance, provides legal cover for individuals who voluntarily expose acts of fraud, bribery, looted government funds and assets, financial misconduct and other forms of corruption.
