Obaseki Committed to Healthy, Clean Environment - Commissioner

.....as YongXing Steel Company eulogises Governor's developmental strides

The Edo State Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Arc Joshua Omokhodion has restated the commitment of Governor Godwin Obaseki to a clean, healthy and safe environment in the state for the sustenance of life.

Hon. Omokhodion stated this while receiving the management of YongXing Steel Company who were on a courtesy visit to the ministry.

The Commissioner admonished the company to ensure they adhere to all environmental requirements as prescribed by the relevant extant regulations so as to protect the environment and prevent health hazards to the people.

While pointing out that the environment is now better as a result of the policies of the Governor Obaseki led administration, Omokhodion noted that, "The environment is better than before, if you move around, you will see that our environment is cleaner than before with no debris, things are getting better everyday.

“Let us continue with the good work, by keeping our surroundings clean. It is for our own good. Let us avoid dumping refuse indiscriminately, as such conduct is prohibited".

Making her remarks earlier, head of the YongXing Steel Company, Mrs Loretta congratulated Arc. Omokhodion on his appointment as Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability.

She assured the Commissioner of the company's continued support and sued for further collaboration between the ministry and the company.
