Edo2024: The Beautiful One Is Coming

"The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born" is a novel by a Ghanaian writer, Ayi Kwei Armah, wherein he expresses his disgust on the situation prevalent in Ghana during its first republic .
With months melting into weeks and weeks into days-- moving us faster than expected towards 2024, is there any hope that a beautiful one will emerge to reset Edo State for sustainable development in juxtaposition with expansion of current efforts.? 

Beautiful one, in this context means a leader that understands Edo State and the needs of the people.One that has no pretended attitude towards our desires, wishes and aspirations; one that understands that the distribution of social and economic advantages is verged on fairness, inclusivity, equity and justice.

We don't need to search too far and hard to see the beautiful one that is coming. He is (Dr) Efosa Dorry Okojie. For now, he is in the womb of the collective expectations of majority of Edo people-- and has some months away to be born to redesign a developmental masterpiece on the canvass of Edo history.

He appreciates the tasks ahead, requiring that all sectors-- agriculture, infrastructures, health care, functional education etc etc are given the attention in line with contemporary civilization.

Against this backdrop, let's unite and support (Dr) Efosa Dorry Okojie as Governor, Edo2024.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
