(Dr) Dorry Okojie, Teaching People How to Fish

"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”

The reality of this proverb has led to a paradigm shift in the ways and manner many Western aid organisations have been moving away from giving charity in developing countries, and are now promoting self-reliance in sustainable programmes. 

Dr Dorry Afe Efosa Okojie has been involved in teaching a lot of Edo youths how to fish so that they will have fish all their life.

However, Okojie does not just teach the youths how to fish, but also gives them fish during their tutelage of how to fish until they perfect the act of fishing so that they don't go hungry until they are able to fish.

Dorry Okojie has been teaching Edo youths how to fish both in Nigeria and outside the shores of the country.

The amazing thing about all these is that he does these empowerments quietly without publicity in his belief that when the right hand is giving, the left hand should not see it.

There is no doubt that as the search for an Edo State Governor in 2024 is ongoing, Dr. Dorry Okojie is a good material for that office.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
