Dorry Okojie's Youth Empowerment Framework

There is a yawning absence of a well laid out framework that should connect youths to government policy efforts. This exclusion has made it impossible for them to confront problems and become productive citizens.

Painfully for them, frustration and a deepening sense of hopelessness, have become their unwanted but constant companions.

The story is about to take a dramatic turn.

This is because Dorry Okojie has a unique blueprint on youth empowerment.The blueprint recognizes that youth empowerment goes beyond knowledge development and formal education. It embraces the process where young individuals, majority of whom have lost hope, are empowered to gain ability, capacity, relevance, authority and agency to make decisions and implement change in their own lives and that of the society.

Dorry Okojie's strategy aims to embrace youth voices in decision- making processes, harnessing same for all- inclusive governance. There will be regular trainings, workshops and leadership seminars which will help the youths realize their full potential.

They will become job creators, not seekers.

This will crystalize in healthier and higher qualities of life. Edo State under Dorry Okojie plans to create the environment in which the competencies of healthy youth will be visible. 

Positive sense of self worth, self control, decision-making skills, moral system of belief and pro- social connectedness are the characteristics of healthy youths.

When the youths are assisted to be job creators, the aforesaid goals will be attained.

And Dorry Okojie is set to do just that.
