The enduring and highly rewarding values of fairness, teamwork, discipline and perseverance can be harvested in well developed competitive sports.

It is therefore refreshing that Dr Dorry Okojie, is determined to use sports to achieve crucial outcomes for the youths and put Edo State in an enviable position on the nation's sporting map.

For him, reinventing the Ogbemudia years, when then Bendel , now Edo and Delta, dictated the pace in national competitive sports, is not just a dream but also a possibility.

In order to achieve this goal, Dorry Okojie intends to raise the bar of funding for sports. This undoubtedly will provide the much needed solid platform for individuals and groups to showcase for skills, compete and connect with others.

Heads of schools, both at primary and secondary levels will be encouraged to promote sports through inter- schools competitions.

In football, government under Dorry Okojie, will give both financial and moral support to Bendel Insurance and encourage private individuals to invest in soccer.

This is the man Edo people need as next Governor . Let's Support and nominate him.

Edo State Anti- Cultism Taskforce Arrests 11 Suspects, to Face Prosecution

The Edo State Special Anti-Cultism Task Force  on Wednesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, paraded 11 persons suspected to be involved in cultitism in the State, pointing out that the operation that led to their arrest is giving effect to the attainment of the Edo State guidelines of zero tolerance for cults and cultism  related crimes in the state adding that more would be done within the ambit of the law to stamp out cultism from the state such that there would not be any hiding place for cultists in the state. The taskforce headed by the Department of State Services (DSS) was created by the Governor Obaseki-led state government in response to increasing cult killings which had claimed many youthful lives across the state. Edo 2024: Consensus Christian Leaders Forum Holds Prayer Session

By Lucky Isibor Ahead the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the Consensus Christian Leaders Forum (CCLF) is to hold a prayer session on Saturday, 10 February to seek the face of God to lead Edo people aright to choose a God fearing Governor on 21 September. In a release by the leader of CCLF, Archbishop Fred Aghedo stated that the prayer session with the theme "Where is Edo of our dream", and called on Edo people to join the group in the prayers to seek the face of God and pray for the realisation of the Edo of our dream.
