Edo State Govt. Orders Teachers to Resume School or Loose Salary.
By Lucky Isibor The Edo State govermenmet has ordered primary school teachers in the state to resume school Monday, 1st February and threatened loose of salary for defaulters. In a statement by the Secretary to the Edo State Govermenmet, Osarodion Ogie (Esq) urged parents to make their children available for school on the said date while urging the teachers who want to join the alleged sponsored strike to hand over school records and other govermenmet properties in their possession to the Education Secretary in their respective Local Government Areas. But the State Chairman Moni Mike Modesty Itua, and the Assistant Secretary General of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Pius Okhueleigbe on Wednesday urged striking teachers to shun Governor Godwin Obaseki's directive on resumption of schools, weeks after the union declared indefinite strike over poor condition of service and other issues of concern.
